Biography:
Michael Allen Pierce was born in San Fernando California in 1963 and raised in the Santa Clarita Valley from the time He was 4. Music, Art and Carpentry were at the heart of Michaels interests early on.
Michael’s formal music training began when he joined the symphonic marching band in middle school under the direction of Donald Anderson. After school he attended private guitar lessons with teacher and lead guitarist Danny B. Harvey from the band ‘Levi and the Rockcats’.
After high school, Michael studied classical guitar and music theory at Valencia California’s ‘College of the Canyons’.
In the years to follow Michael wrote and recorded numerous songs and played Hollywood clubs such as ‘The Whiskey a-go-go’, ‘The Troubadour’ and ‘The Reseda Country Club’ to name only a few with the band ‘AUSTPIERCE’ with co-founder Rick Aust and high school pal and drummer Carl Kelley and the speed metal band ‘EXECUTIONER’ with co- founder and Brother Greg Pierce on vocals.
In 1990 Michael met his soul mate ‘Ritabird’ and married her in ’91.
Executioner played it’s last gig at Hollywood’s ‘Raji’s’ on the Sunset strip in the spring of ’91 after receiving a threat of an injunction to stop using the name ‘EXECUTIONER’ from the legal council of another band of the same name in Massachusetts who already had a CD out and was making a semi-pro living at it.
Michael continued and still does to this day, write and record with AUSTPIERCE when the planets and stars are all in perfect alignment, but for the most part Michael has been treading water in a sea of musical doldrum-dormancy until now, which leads us to the newest chapter in the life of MAP.
Michael is currently re-honing his skills and plans to be out in the public ear joining Ron Ely as guitar, mandolin & harmony vocal sidekick-stay tuned….!
